Cycling
The Welsh National Cycle Route - Lôn Las Cymru - National Cycle Network Route 8 passes north-south through Wales and Plasnewydd Bunkhouse at Llanidloes provides the perfect overnight stop. Likewise, Lôn Cambria - National Cycle Network Route 81 - passes east-west through Wales and again Plasnewydd Bunkhouse at Llanidloes provides the perfect overnight stop. We are happy to transport people, bikes and luggage as required.

Walking
There are over thirty separate routes around the town of Llanidloes many of which link with surrounding towns such as Llangurig, Llandinam and Trefeglwys. Full details including downloadable directions can be found on the Llanidloes website.
The national trails of Glyndwr's Way and the Severn Way pass near the bunkhouse making us an ideal location for those walking the longer trails.
Golfing
The St. Idloes Golf Club was founded 1897 and is a nine-hole undulating course which plays as a par 66. The club is situated one mile to the north of Llanidloes.

Horse riding & Holiday Liveries
At Bradnant Equestrian Centre we offer the full range of riding and livery services. From lessons in our indoor arena (great for the Welsh weather!) to hacking-out in the glorious countryside around Llanidloes.

Motorbiking
The Yamaha Off-Road Experience is the ideal introduction to off road motorcycling - as well as being a great day out for more competent dirt riders.

Sailing
Sailing's best kept secret - 615 acres of water within easy reach of both North and South Wales and the midlands, Clywedog Sailing Club has been at home on Llyn Clywedog since 1968 and is just 7.5 miles from Plasnewydd Bunkhouse; set in some of the most tranquil and peaceful scenery in mid wales.

Elan Valley
Elan Valley is one of Wales' most picturesque spots and only 18 miles from Plasnewydd Bunkhouse. Part of the rugged Cambrian Mountains, Elan is a beautiful and unspoilt area, home to reservoirs, aqueducts and many species of animal and wildlife.

Outdoor Activities
Mount Severn is privately owned by Joycelin Gray and Paul Hoyland and it as run as an outdoor activity centre - with a difference! Mount Severn is a grade II listed country residence dating from 1825 set in 14 acres of woodland through which the River Severn flows.

Based on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains with access to wild areas where you can re-learn the skills of our ancestors.
